Sinhagad Fort Cleaning
National Voters' Day
In order to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process, Government of India has decided to celebrate January 25 every year as “National Voters’ Day”. It has been started from January 26, 2011 to mark Commission’s foundation day. It not only encourages the youth to participate in the electoral process but also focuses that the Right to vote is the basic right.


Blood Donation Camp
The camp was conducted on 01st October 2019 in association with Sanhayadri Specility Hospital at Suryadatta Group of Institutes, Bavdhan Campus, Pune, in the presence of Mr. Ram Bangad, Dputy Governer of Lions Club Mr. Abhay Shastri, Hemant Naik, Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya Founder President & Chairman, Suryadatta Group of Institutes, Pune, Mrs. Sushma Chordiya Vice President of Suryadatta Group of Institutes, Pune.
NSS Volunteers of SCMIRT worked hard for the success of the camp. Almost 80 members donated their blood for the noble cause. Staff of hospital appreciated the noble thought of SGI members. Organizers of the camp are also grateful to the staff of Sanhayadri Specialty Hospital for their support to accomplish the noble cause.


Constitution Day
Constitution Day in India is celebrated every year on the 26th of November as the constitution of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on the 26th of November in the year 1949 and came into force on the 26th of January in 1950. Dr. Ambedkar is the Father of the Constitution of India. After the independence of India, Dr. Ambedkar was invited by the Congress government to serve as the first law minister of India.
He was appointed as the Constitution Drafting Committee’s Chairman on the 29th of August. He was the chief architect of the Indian constitution and known for the strong and united India.
Keeping this fervour alive, SCMIRT NSS celebrated The Indian Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas), on 26th November 2019, Tuesday. On the occasion, students and faculty got together for a Group discussion to discuss the Indian Constitution, it’s relevance and importance in today’s times. The session was interesting and enlightening.

Under the awareness campaign of “Mazhe Kutumb Mazhi Jababdaari” organised by SPPU NSS to spread the awareness of how we can be protected from COVID-19 by proper handwashing NSS Department of Suryadatta Education Foundation’s Suryadatta College of Management, Information Research & Technology (SCMIRT) has organised drawing competition for the primary students i.e. from std Ist till IVth of Suryadatta National School the topic for the same was “Hand Hygiene for All” and quiz on importance of handwashing for higher standards i.e. from std Vth till Xth
Students of Suryadatta Education Foundation’s Suryadatta National School (SNS) participated enthusiastically and come up with fantastic drawings in the handwashing campaign organised by SCMIRT NSS.

As responsible citizens and Educational Institution, Suryadatta Group of Institutes does not lag behind in promoting various social awareness programs and sensitizing and educating its students to be good corporate citizens. Keeping this in mind, Suryadatta Group of Institute’s SCMIRT NSS department participated in “Virtual Wari” an initiative taken by SPPU NSS the theme for the same was
“Swach Wari- Swasth Wari- Nirmal Wari- Harit Wari” between 21st June till 4th July. It was an initiative towards creating an awareness of tree plantation.
The NSS volunteers and staff members of Suryadatta College of Management Information Research & Technology, Bavdhan, Pune were actively involved in tree plantation program. By following all social distancing norms and safety rules students and faculties planted various medicinal (Neem, Tulsi, Aloe-Vera, Gulvel, Ananta) and fruit saplings like (Mango and Guava) in their society.
Many Students inspire and conducted plantation along with their society members.

Friendship Day is enthusiastically celebrated every year by many countries. The occasion is observed on the first Sunday of every August. The traditional celebrations include meeting with friends and exchanging of cards, flowers and gifts to strengthen the bond of affection. It is celebrated to commemorate the bond between friends. By keeping this in mind this year NSS volunteers of Suryadatta College of Management Information & Technology, Bavdhan, Pune have decided to celebrate it in a unique way by doing friendship with ocean.
As we know every drop of water we drink, every breath we take, we are connected to the sea. No matter where on Earth we live. Most of the oxygen in the atmosphere is generated by the sea. That’s why to save the ocean is a need of an hour.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic situation students were not able to go out but still by using social media platform SCMIRT NSS Volunteers on the occasion of Friendship Day appeal to society to do friendship with the ocean to “save the ocean”. Volunteers Created awareness posters and Videos and spread them on their social media network and requested everyone not to through any kind on rubbish in Ocean and suggested the ways to save ocean.

Visit to Old Age Home on the Occasion of International Old Age Persons
Date-1st October 2020
Time- 02.00pm to 07.30 pm1st October 2020 is celebrated as ‘International Old Age Persons Day’ all over the world. Old age home visit was planned to celebrate this special day. Along with Director & CEO of SGI Dr. Shailesh Kasande & Dean Academics Dr. Pratiksha Wable SCMIRT NSS PO Priya Barhate and faculty representative Monika Kulkarni along with other non-teaching staff members visited the Old Age Home of ‘Jansewa Foundation’ located at Panshet Pune.Objective of the Visit
- To percolate and nurture human values like love, care, service, empathy among our students.
- To show gratitude towards the Old Age People of Society.
- To understand old age problems.
- To recognize their contribution towards society.
- To recognize their talents.
- To get their valuable advice, message for our students.
SCMIRT Team reached at Vruddhashram at 3 pm. Permission was already taken with promise that all Precautions like social distancing, masks and other safety measures will be followed during the visit. Ms. Sonali Shaha administrator of aashram guided and extended the cooperation.

Activities at Old Age House
- As per our promise to aashram authorities by taking proper care Distributed Fruits, sweets, snacks and books to Library.
- Dr Shailesh Kasande, Dr Pratiksha Wable shared the Suryadatta Group of Institute message and purpose of visit. Other faculties and staff also interacted and shared their feelings with them.
- Few senior citizens-Mr. Modi, Ms. Ketkar share their feelings and gave their message for SGI students.
- Talents of senior citizen were recognized and they shared beautiful song like ‘Jyot se Jyot Milate Chalo……’. Other old leady sang beautifully ’JATYA WARCHI OVI’.
It was indeed an effort to preserve our vanishing art and talent.

Ms Sonali shah shared about the routine of the members and how old age people are spending quality time. She extended that old age people talents are recognized here. They are doing plantation, stitching work, administration and cooking work at Aashram.
All old age people conveyed that we must take care of our elders and shall give respect to them.
At the end Dr. Shailesh Kasande & Dr Pratiksha Wable, offered their thanks with a promise that we will be revisiting with our students after the pandemic situation. We also promised them that we will be sharing the Recording of interviews and messages with the students of SCMIRT. We left Aashram with a heavy heart and concluded the visit by 7.30 pm.

National Unity Day
On the occasion of National Unity Day Suryadatta group of Institutes organized various programs for students, teaching and non-teaching staff of the institutes.
On 31st August 2019, NSS department of Suryadatta College of Management Information Research & Technology took the pledge, all the students and staff members of Suryadatta Celebrated Rastriya Ekta Divas by Pledging for Social, Economical and Ethical Equality among all and thereby Achieving Peace, Prosperity and Progress of the Nation. The best part of this celebration was that the students and staff members from all the level united together to celebrate this special day.
Kargil Vijay Diwas 2020
NSS Volunteers of Surya Datta College of Management Information Research & Technology, on July 26, paid tribute to the martyred soldiers to mark the 21st anniversary of India’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil war and saluted their “courage, valour and sacrifice.”The Kargil war was declared over on July 26 in 1999 after Indian soldiers had pushed back Pakistani troops, a bulk of them drawn from the neighbouring country’s Northern Light Infantry, from the captured peaks in Kargil.
The country lost more than 500 soldiers in the war. The day is observed as ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ to commemorate India’s victory. “26 July immortalised as Kargil Vijay Diwas is a saga of Glorious Victory of the Nation during Kargil Conflict in May-July 1999. SCMIRT NSS Volunteers salutes the undaunted courage, indomitable valour and sacrifice of our heroes,” on their social media network as it was not possible to gather in college because of COVID-19 pandemic.

Medical Checkup Camp
As a part of Suryadatta Edu-Socio Connect Initiative, NSS department of Suryadatta College of Management Information and Research & Technology has organized a Free Health Checkup Camp on 18th October 2019 from 10 am onward at Bansi Ratna Auditorium of the college. The camp covered a complete dental, eye, blood and heart checkup by well-known doctors and their teams along with checkup doctors gave advice regarding preventives and suggested treatment for the patients if required.
This camp was open for society members, all the students, teaching and non-teaching faculties of all Institutes of Suryadatta Group of Institutes
To make people aware of the free Medical Checkup Camp, which was organized at Suryadatta’s Bavdhan campus, NSS and other students took the initiative to organize a Health checkup rally in Bavdhan area. This rally has spread information about the worthy initiative conducted by NSS department of Suryadatta College of Management Information and Research & Technology.

The NSS Unit of SCMIRT celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on 31st October to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The programme began with an inspiring address by Asst. Prof. Sandeep Dhore, NSS Coordinator, followed by the National Unity Pledge and a Unity Run through the streets of Bavdhan. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers, students, and faculty members, promoting the values of unity, integrity, and national harmony.

Educational Visit to UMED Pariwar NGO
The Department of Arts (Psychology) and the NSS Unit of SCMIRT organized an educational visit to UMED Pariwar, an NGO dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of adults with intellectual disabilities. Around 40 students, accompanied by faculty members, interacted with the residents and learned about the NGO’s rehabilitation programmes, vocational training, therapeutic activities, and daily operations. Students also participated in games and cultural interactions, making the visit engaging and meaningful. The visit provided valuable insights into social responsibility, empathy, and inclusive care, making it a truly enriching learning experience.



SCMIRT NSS Organizes International Anti-Drug Day Awareness Campaign
The programme was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Shrikant Jagtap, who emphasized the importance of staying away from addiction. Dr. Sandeep Dhore, NSS Programme Officer, welcomed the participants and highlighted the significance of International Anti-Drug Day.
The chief guest, Mr. Dongare, Assistant Police Inspector (API), Bavdhan Police Station, delivered an insightful session on the physical, mental, emotional, and social consequences of drug abuse. He encouraged students to resist peer pressure, make responsible choices, and contribute to a drug-free society.
The event concluded with a Drug-Free Life Pledge, where students and faculty reaffirmed their commitment to creating a healthier and safer community.

Anti-Ragging Awareness Skit
The student-led performance effectively highlighted the harmful effects of ragging, its legal consequences, and the importance of creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment. Through engaging role-plays, students encouraged their peers to stand against ragging and report any such incidents without hesitation.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and staff, successfully spreading awareness about the institution’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and promoting a culture of mutual respect and responsibility.


Guru Purnima Celebration 2025
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of SCMIRT, Pune celebrated Guru Purnima on 15th July 2025 with great devotion and gratitude, honoring the invaluable contributions of teachers and mentors.
The program began with Saraswati Pujan and a soulful Ganesh Vandana, creating a spiritual and inspiring atmosphere. Principal Dr. Shrikant Jagtap addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of Guru Purnima and the vital role of teachers in shaping students’ lives. Dr. Sandeep Dhore (HOD Arts & NSS Programme Officer) highlighted that parents and nature are our first and greatest teachers, while Dr. Sudhanshu Saxena inspired the audience with an engaging talk on lifelong learning and self-development.
Students presented cultural performances, including music, poetry, and creative tributes dedicated to their teachers. The celebration concluded with the felicitation of faculty members in recognition of their dedication and guidance. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff, making it a memorable celebration of respect, gratitude, and lifelong learning.



Seven-Day NSS Special Camp 2026
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of SCMIRT, Pune successfully organized a Seven-Day Special Camp at Kule Village from 16th to 22nd January 2026 with the theme of community development and rural upliftment.
Throughout the camp, NSS volunteers actively participated in village surveys, cleanliness drives, tree plantation, road safety and de-addiction rallies, health & hygiene awareness, environmental conservation, digital awareness, women empowerment, mental health awareness, educational activities, and cultural programs. Expert guest sessions by Dr. Sunil Dhangar, Prof. Sandhya Sharma, and Dr. Soniya Karade provided valuable guidance on personality development, women’s empowerment, and mental well-being.
The camp concluded with a Valedictory Function, where volunteers shared their experiences and villagers appreciated the positive impact of the activities. The initiative strengthened community engagement while developing leadership, teamwork, social responsibility, and service-oriented values among the NSS volunteers, truly reflecting the NSS motto
“Not Me, But You.”










World Environment Day 2025 Celebration
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Shrikant Jagtap, Principal, while Dr. Sandeep Dhore, NSS Programme Officer, highlighted the importance of environmental conservation.
As part of the celebration, NSS volunteers planted over 100 native and medicinal saplings in and around the campus. Each sapling was tagged with the student’s name to encourage responsibility for its growth.
In collaboration with the Department of Animation, a Poster Making Competition on environmental protection was also organized, inspiring students to spread awareness through creative artwork.
The event concluded with an Environmental Protection Pledge, where students committed to adopting sustainable practices and contributing towards a greener future.

Suryadatta College of Management, Information, Research and Technology (SCMIRT), Bavdhan, Pune, celebrated Savitribai Phule Jayanti to honor the legacy of India’s first woman teacher and a pioneer of women’s education and social reform.
The programme featured a floral tribute, inspiring speeches by Dr. Shrikant Jagtap (Principal) and Dr. Khushali Oza (Vice Principal), and student presentations highlighting Savitribai Phule’s remarkable contributions to education, women empowerment, and social equality.

The NSS Unit of Suryadatta College of Management, Information, Research & Technology (SCMIRT) celebrated Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti on 19 February 2026 with great enthusiasm to honor the birth anniversary of the legendary Maratha warrior and visionary leader.
The program commenced with the garlanding of the portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, followed by inspiring speeches by Principal Dr. Shrikant Jagtap and Asst. Prof. Chhaya Malve. They highlighted Shivaji Maharaj’s ideals of courage, leadership, patriotism, ethical governance, and social responsibility, encouraging students to adopt these values in their daily lives.
The celebration witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, and NSS volunteers. The event created awareness about the life and remarkable achievements of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj while fostering a sense of national pride, cultural heritage, and responsible citizenship among the participants.

SCMIRT NSS Unit Organizes Run for Unity
The event began with an address highlighting Sardar Patel’s invaluable contribution to national integration, followed by the Run for Unity, in which students enthusiastically participated carrying banners and slogans promoting unity and harmony. NSS volunteers also presented a meaningful skit on “Unity”, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, peace, and collective responsibility.
Conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sandeep Dhore, NSS Programme Officer, the event inspired students to uphold the values of patriotism, integrity, and social responsibility while strengthening the spirit of unity and nation-building.





SCMIRT NSS Unit Celebrates Gandhi Jayanti
The programme commenced with Saraswati Vandana and the NSS Anthem, followed by the felicitation of Principal Dr. Shrikant Jagtap, Vice Principal Dr. Khushali Oza, and Dr. Sandeep Dhore, HOD of Arts and NSS Programme Officer. The highlight of the event was an inspiring guest lecture by Asst. Prof. Sunil Dhangar, who emphasized the relevance of Gandhian philosophy in today’s society.
Students enthusiastically participated in various competitions, including Elocution, Essay Writing, Debate, and Poster Making, showcasing their understanding of Gandhian ideals. Winners were felicitated for their outstanding performances.
The celebration witnessed active participation from students and faculty members, successfully fostering ethical leadership, critical thinking, patriotism, and social responsibility while reinforcing the importance of Gandhian values in everyday life.



Safe Diwali Activity & Diwali Celebration 2025
The NSS Unit of SCMIRT organized a Safe Diwali Activity and Diwali Celebration on 17 October 2025 under the guidance of Ms. Sandhya Sharma and Dr. Sandeep Dhore (NSS Programme Coordinator & HOD, Department of Arts). The event was held to express gratitude towards the institute’s non-teaching staff by distributing sweets and celebrating the festival together.
The celebration was graced by Principal Dr. Shrikant Jagtap and Vice Principal Dr. Khushali Oza, who distributed sweets to around 60 non-teaching staff members. Students presented cultural performances, including songs and dances, while faculty members participated in festive games, creating a joyful atmosphere of unity and togetherness.
The event promoted the NSS values of service, teamwork, gratitude, and community engagement, making the Diwali celebration meaningful and memorable for the entire SCMIRT family.


Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti Celebration 2026
The NSS Unit of SCMIRT celebrated Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti on 23 January 2026 at Iyenger Hall to honor the birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The program began with the ceremonial lamp lighting by Principal Dr. Shrikant Jagtap, along with faculty members and NSS volunteers.
Principal Dr. Shrikant Jagtap and faculty members highlighted Netaji’s inspiring life, leadership, and invaluable contribution to India’s freedom struggle. Students and NSS volunteers actively participated in the celebration and were inspired by the values of patriotism, courage, discipline, and selfless service.
The event successfully strengthened national pride and encouraged students to uphold the ideals of leadership, responsibility, and service to the nation.

Fire Safety Drive 2026
The NSS Unit of SCMIRT organized a Fire Safety Drive on 28 January 2026 to raise awareness about fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and safety measures among students and staff.
The program included an informative session and a live demonstration by trained professionals on the proper use of fire extinguishers and the PASS (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep) technique. Participants also learned about fire prevention, evacuation procedures, and emergency response.
The initiative enhanced students’ awareness of fire safety, encouraged responsible safety practices, and promoted a culture of preparedness, contributing to a safer and more secure campus environment.


Minority Rights Day
The event encouraged students to respect India’s cultural and religious diversity, strengthened their understanding of minority rights, and reinforced the values of social justice, inclusivity, and national integration.
